The Quiz: Harry Potter Edition.
!!BIG FREAKING HUGE SPOILER WARNING!!
Answers are given after each question. Highlight to read.
Scoring: Each question has two numbers for the score (in the form of x/y). The X is the number of points you get if you get the question right. The Y is the number you lose if you get it wrong. You can also skip over a question without answering and not lose or gain any points. This is an open-book quiz, so feel free to look up the answers in the books, but beware! If you look up an answer, you only get half the point value for a correct answer, and you lose DOUBLE the point value if you get it wrong. Using fansites or wikis is strictly prohibited. This quiz is hexed such that ugly pimples will spell "CHEAT" across your face if you try to cheat in such a manner. If you do cheat, you are awarded no points and may God have mercy on your soul.
In all cases, the questions and answers are information that is solely determinable from the seven Harry Potter books (i.e., the "canon"). All other sources (i.e., Quidditch Through the Ages, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and interviews with Rowling) are not valid sources for this quiz.

It's all those dang Quiddich questions. We would have gotten an O otherwise. Sheesh.
ReplyDeleteOf course, 296 is still a pretty good score for not bothering to crack open the books. What can I say -- I'm lazy!
(If you want to be helpful and give us an extra 20 points, look up to see if Professor Binns is actually in DH. We're thinking he is in there during the last battle. And, afaik, he isn't in any of the movies.)
And..... I'm thinking if given the options to the last question, I'm going to pass on option B and choose the prize behind Door Number A.
ReplyDeleteHmm... I don't remember any appearances by Professor Binns in DH (or in HBP for that matter, since Harry was no longer taking his class). If you can provide passages and page numbers from both of those, then give yourself an extra 20 points, and an Outstanding on your O.W.L. in Harry Potter!
